Breakfast with Santa at the Aquarium

Lobster

Since PaPa's birthday was on Thanksgiving this year, he elected to have lobsters the night before as his "birthday dinner."  Austin was enthralled with the lobster.  Unfortunately, he did not want to crack the shell and eat the lobster--just play with it!

ICE!

It was cold: 3 degrees.  This picture was taken after 20 minutes.  I was freezing and miserable too.  The background is allllll ice.  It was AMAZING and cold.

Puss in Boots

We attended the Shrek Feast with Shrek, Fiona, and Puss in Boots.  Austin was soooooo excited.  He loved Puss.

Gingerbread House

This was a Gingerbread Mansion on display at the Gaylord Hotel.  Austin was quite impressed.  It was spectacular.

Stairs

I love these stairs.

88th Birthday Party

We went to Arlington for Blueberry Grandpa's 88th Birthday.  As soon as we arrived at this steakhouse they brought Austin a plate of celery, carrots, tomatoes, crackers, and a ramekin with ranch.  He was impressed!

Sharing Feast

Austin's school had a "Sharing Feast" where each child was asked to bring his or her favorite food.  Austin chose to bring (read: have his mom make) spaghetti!  The feast was a hit!

Carving the Pumpkin

1st Trophy

Coach Walt and Coach Terry presented Austin with his trophy and medal.

Austin is pretty happy to have his 1st trophy.  It has a squishy, spinning soccer ball that is super fun to play with.

His medal has become a great pretend stethoscope when Austin plays 'doctor.'

Donut

Austin had his soccer party after his 8 AM soccer game.  Donuts were served; trophies and medals were presented.  The party was over by 9:30 AM, and Mom and Dad were ready for naps by 10 AM!

Ainsley Court Trick or Treating

This was taken a couple of days before Halloween at Ainsley Court Retirement Center.  A group of 25 kids trick-or-treated around the living room where the residents sat with buckets of candy in their lap.  The kids love the candy and the residents LOVE seeing little people--its a win-win for everyone.

HEB Feet

Austin decided he did not want to wear his yellow Crocs (mickey feet)...and he took off his shoes to stroll around the zoo.

We called him HEB feet because in college you would always see people walking around HEB without shoes--GROSS!

Shower Show and Tell

On Wednesday I asked Austin what he wanted to bring for show and tell on Friday. He told me that he wanted to bring the shower. I asked which shower he was talking about, and he plainly told me that he wanted to bring mine. So I proceeded to ask how we were going to get the shower out of the wall (dad would cut it out) and how we were going to get it to school (in the car--duh!).

Later on I asked him what he would like to bring if it we just couldn't bring a shower. His answer: the tub.

So as I was telling this story to Damon I remembered that we actually have a shower head from the original beach house. It has been sitting in my parents' garage for the past three years. I drove over to their house and brought it home for Austin's Show and Tell. He was the HAPPIEST kid! He carried the shower head into the school this morning...and it is pretty heavy. This is his picture before we left for school.

Party People

This picture was taken on Saturday, August 27th at Emery's 2nd Birthday Party (she is second from the left). We tried to get them all to sit for a picture. This was a good one!

Checking out Preschool

Today Austin was able to check out his classroom for an hour. All the toys were available for play...he had a blast! When we left he asked if we could go back next-later (his word of the month). I assured him we would. This afternoon I broke the news to him that I would not be staying with him on Monday when he went to school--he was okay with the news. We shall see how things go!

What is it?

I LOVE his face!
