Cheating

We told Austin that if you look at the box while you are doing the puzzle it's cheating. For some reason, after he heard that, whenever he saw us working on the puzzle he asked us if we were doing some cheating. Damon tried to explain to him that he was putting the puzzle together--but Austin insisted that Damon was doing some cheating!

And this comes from a kid who LOVES to do puzzles!

Not the Rainbow Fish

...but this is a great specimen to show you how Rainbow Fish took his scales and gave them to his friends!

Invasion of the Jelly Fish

Austin and I went for our morning walk and there were jelly fish EVERYWHERE (along with the seaweed). I have never seen so many wash ashore at one time.

First Beach Day of the Season

...and we all got some color to wash away our vampire skin.

Strollin'

Hawk! (too many weeks to count)

This will be the final posting concerning the hawk--he is starting to deteriorate and lose his coloring. I don't think we will be visiting him much more.

Milk that Cow

We FINALLY found a 'cow' to milk. Ever since we have started reading Old McDonald Had a Farm to Austin, he has wanted to milk a cow. It is very intriguing to him. This cow is not real, but the 'udders' are fairly realistic, and they squirt little streams of water. Austin could have milked for hours!

Lots of Berts

Austin loves a book titled, I Completely Know About Guinea Pigs, and it happens to be all about guinea pigs! He was thrilled to actually see some.

An interesting note about this situation is that he has never shown any interest in having one as a pet...NOT that I am encouraging it! However, he would like a mouse.

Art Car

We could have spent hours looking over this car, but I kind of felt creepy peering at a stranger's car in a random parking lot. Austin loved it...except for that blue crab right next to him. It was a little too realistic!

Rodeo Longhorn 2011

Austin is not happy about this picture. Let me explain...

This is a rodeo tradition for us (3 years now). We walk into the arena, there is the giant longhorn with the cute cowgirl handlers. At 10 months old, the ladies in line behind me thought I was crazy for putting my child near the animal. At 22 months old, Austin did what he did because I told him to. At 34 months old, Austin has a brain. He did not like this idea one bit...as you can plainly see (we have been reading a lot of Dr. Seuss lately)!

Dromedary Ride

Pink Butterfly

This year at the rodeo they have a butterfly enclosure where they have 5,000 new butterflies each day. It was incredible, and I really enjoyed it. The butterflies landed on you --they were everywhere. Austin was more in awe of the gigantic pink butterfly standing outside of the enclosure!

One Millllllllion Dollars

Best Toy EVER

"It has a cord and everything."

Damon asked me, "Did Wal-Mart clap and say, 'we sold one, we sold one, we sold a phone!' ?." (too much punctuation in that sentence...is that right???)

Just for the record, they didn't do it while I was in the store. Austin LUVS this phone, and has played with it for hours!

Sleeping in a Big Boy Bed

This pic was taken the first night. I thought I might cry...this means that we are going to disassemble the crib. He has successfully slept and napped in the big bed (aka red bed) two full days now. I think it is official.
