Coloring Easter Eggs

This was Austin's favorite part of celebrating Easter this year.  We colored seven dozen eggs.

He has asked me several times since then if we can color more eggs.  I really think we are going to be coloring eggs for every holiday!

Guess who does not like shrimp (but loves spaghetti)?

The plate at the bottom right is Damon's: he loves shrimp and spaghetti!

Beach Bath Tub

This bath tub (also known as a bucket) is not scary like the ocean water, and it gets very warm after sitting in the sand and under the sun for a couple of hours. Austin loves his tub.

Easter Eggs

We dyed six dozen eggs in a matter of minutes. Austin was all over decorating Easter eggs!

Cheating

We told Austin that if you look at the box while you are doing the puzzle it's cheating. For some reason, after he heard that, whenever he saw us working on the puzzle he asked us if we were doing some cheating. Damon tried to explain to him that he was putting the puzzle together--but Austin insisted that Damon was doing some cheating!

And this comes from a kid who LOVES to do puzzles!

Not the Rainbow Fish

...but this is a great specimen to show you how Rainbow Fish took his scales and gave them to his friends!

Invasion of the Jelly Fish

Austin and I went for our morning walk and there were jelly fish EVERYWHERE (along with the seaweed). I have never seen so many wash ashore at one time.

First Beach Day of the Season

...and we all got some color to wash away our vampire skin.

Strollin'

Hawk! (too many weeks to count)

This will be the final posting concerning the hawk--he is starting to deteriorate and lose his coloring. I don't think we will be visiting him much more.

Hawk! (week 2)

This was, once again, one of the highlights of Austin's weekend. You can see how excited he is in this picture! Interestingly, very little decomposition has taken place on the outside of the hawk.

Hawk!

Honestly...they only used the stick to point out his anatomy: talons, beak, wings, feathers, etc.! This is a well preserved hawk, and we cannot figure out how he died. Austin wanted to go back to look at this bird several times--he was very interested in him.

Shell Collection

Saturday was a great day for scouring the beach for shells.

Hat!

Austin refuses to wear hats. He hates them....except for other people' hats.

Sandcastles

Bathing Boy

This is Austin's 'bathtub.' This is his word! Also, this pretty much the only water Austin will touch in Galveston.
