Surprise!

We told Austin we had a BIG surprise for him.  We drove up to the airport and Joanie climbs in the car.  He looks at us and says, "well....can I at least have some chocolate as another surprise?" 

It was the biggest disappointment surprise ever!!!

All Tangled up with 'Punzel

This is the one person that Austin HAD TO MEET!  Joanie and I stood in line for 1 1/2 hours while Damon and Austin rode rides. 

Just FYI: Eugene took Maximus out to pick apples because Max was being so good.  Pascal was probably hiding in the flowers because they were playing hide-and-seek earlier.  Pascal helped 'Punzel sew the flowers on her dress because he has the tiny hands to help with the details. 

Austin was soooo nervous that he could not look at her for the fist few minutes.  And the only question he could ask her at the beginning was, "What do my shoes look like?"!!!  Joanie helped calm him down and eventually they got to Flynn Rider, Max, and Pascal.

Joan and Austin have taken this picture every year since he was 8 weeks old. Its a silly tradition, but it is amazing to see how they grow and change each year!

Milk that Cow

We FINALLY found a 'cow' to milk. Ever since we have started reading Old McDonald Had a Farm to Austin, he has wanted to milk a cow. It is very intriguing to him. This cow is not real, but the 'udders' are fairly realistic, and they squirt little streams of water. Austin could have milked for hours!

Lots of Berts

Austin loves a book titled, I Completely Know About Guinea Pigs, and it happens to be all about guinea pigs! He was thrilled to actually see some.

An interesting note about this situation is that he has never shown any interest in having one as a pet...NOT that I am encouraging it! However, he would like a mouse.

Hawk! (week 2)

This was, once again, one of the highlights of Austin's weekend. You can see how excited he is in this picture! Interestingly, very little decomposition has taken place on the outside of the hawk.

We have this same picture taken when Austin was 8 weeks old and one year old. Joanie is always the one to hold him. This year they moved the plywood cutout, and there was a moment of panic. We found it eventually!
